Event overview

Join the Building Performance Network (BPN), a programme of the Good Homes Alliance, for an in-person afternoon symposium event in London. At this intimate event we’ll get into the detail to exchange the latest building performance evaluation (BPE) research and technical developments, and discuss the way forward for BPE in the UK.

Why should you attend?

Studies have shown that the “performance gap” in housing is significant with actual energy use in some cases over four times what has been predicted. There is an emerging market for building performance technologies and evaluation techniques, and it is becoming faster and more cost efficient than ever to measure the “as-built” performance of new and refurbished homes. Interest in BPE is at an all time high. However, there is still a way to go before performance measurement is commonplace.

To enable consistency in the evaluation of the performance of buildings, BPN supported the development of a British Standard for Building Performance Evaluation (BS 40101) which was launched in 2022. BS40101 is due to receive an update in the near future and at the conference we will seek feedback from attendees on how the standard could be improved to further increase uptake of building performance evaluation in the UK.

Join this half-day in-person conference and workshop to find out more on the latest BPE research findings, technological advancements and next steps for the industry.

Full programme coming soon!

Who should attend?

Anyone with an interest in closing the performance gap and improving the real-life performance of homes and buildings from an energy, carbon and health perspective. Including BPE practitioners, housing developers, technology specialists, social housing providers, consultants, architects and designers, engineers and more.

Where is the event taking place?

The event will take place at GHA member Pollard Thomas Edwards‘ offices at Diespeker Wharf, beside the Regent’s Canal in London. Diespeker Wharf was acquired by PTE in 1994 who have refurbished the listed former Victorian terrazzo factory for its own headquarters, with 20,000 sq.ft. of contempoary office space and residential accommodation. The building was shortlisted for an AJ Retrofit Award in 2023.
