LABC represents all local authority building control teams in England and Wales. It helps local authority members to partner with homes builders and work cooperatively with customers to create high quality, high performing homes. LABC undertakes research, supports Zero Carbon Hub and works with many industry partners to develop new practices, solutions and products. It runs the LABC Registered Details scheme which includes ‘Registered House Types’ and also markets a new homes warranty under the LABC Warranty brand. As well as building control, LABC offers acoustic testing, air pressure testing, energy calculations and other value added services from structural and fire engineering to fire risk assessments. With 3,000 surveyors and technical support staff working in every council, LABC can provide a national service with local delivery.
