BPN welcomes publication of new Thermal Bypass paper

The Building Performance Network exists to improve the performance of homes through the collecting and
analysis of evidence, so that remedial action can be taken, we have evidence-based decision-making, and that there is a culture of learning through the industry, based on robust, comparable data and analysis.  We warmly
welcome this review of the risks that thermal bypass poses to energy efficiency and thermal performance. We are especially pleased that the use of British Standard BS 40101 (2022) is promoted within these pages, as it is by the application of this standard that the industry can ensure the use of building performance evaluation is reaching its full potential.
