Welsh Zero Carbon Hub – scoping report

The BPN, Good Homes Alliance and Woodknowledge Wales teams have been working in partnership to delivery a scoping study for the Welsh Government’s Innovative Housing Programme. Using a combination of literature research, over 70 responses to an online survey, 15 individual interviews and a social housing sector workshop, the team developed a business case proposal for a new delivery hub. Initially focusing on the new build social housing sector investigations considered a range of activities including

  • accelerated innovation programmes,
  • the role of MMC and welsh timber,
  • embodied carbon,
  • ways to address the performance gap and
  • building performance benchmarking, evaluation and verification.

Presentations have been made to the Welsh Government and we hope to be announcing the next stage of this exciting project later in the summer.  Look out for more in our newsletters.
